Cosmetic Dentistry

Pine Valley Dental Centre offers cosmetic Dentistry ranging from a complete smile makeover to simple smile whitening. Using multimedia to demonstrate all aspects of treatment, you can make that informed decision with confidence.

Whitening (also referred to as bleaching)

Home Treatment
Custom fabricated thin plastic trays are filled with a hydrogen peroxide gel and worn overnight or for short periods during the day. All that is needed is approximately 14 days use to substantially lighten and brighten your teeth.

In Office Treatment
"ZOOM" whitening takes approximately 1 hour of treatment time. The teeth to be whitened are isolated and dried. A more concentrated hydrogen peroxide gel is placed on the teeth and the whitening action is accelerated using the "ZOOM" high intensity light. Custom fabricated thin plastic trays maybe used for a few days after at home to stabilize the result.

White Fillings

Pine Valley Dental is proud to say we are an amalgam (silver filling) free office since January 1994.

For perfectly white teeth throughout your mouth, you can replace your amalgam filling with white fillings. Depending on the location and size of the filling, there are two basic materials to choose from.
  • Composite Resin a reinforced white plastic material
  • Porcelain for optimum strength and durability
Bonding & Veneers

Bonding and Veneers enhance your teeth by changing their colour, shape or the spacing between teeth

Bonding is an excellent application to repair a chipped tooth. As a composite resin it can be coloured to match and molded to reshape the chipped part of your tooth. Bonding can also be applied to stained and fractured teeth, and can be added to natural teeth to close excessive gaps between teeth.

Veneers work much like bonding, but are custom made acrylic or porcelain shells which are attached to the front of your teeth. After tooth preparation, a mold of your tooth is taken and sent to a dental lab for fabrication of the veneer.

Both Bonding and Veneers are permanent solutions to beautify your smile.

Porcelain Crown

Crowns are recommended in dental procedures where the existing tooth has been significantly weakened. A crown completely covers, strengthens and protects the entire tooth from further damage. A crown solution is indicated when a tooth has had a root canal, has a very large filling,is broken, or otherwise badly stained, misshapen or standing out from the natural line in your teeth.
